-- Please Help Me Out Of Hotsync Hell (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10140)
I had to uninstall, then reinstall both Palm Desktop and Easysync (conduit for Lotus Organizer 6.0) because my Contacts entries were not mapping to my VDx. Once I corrected that, I hotsync'd, and ended up with duplicates of almost all of my Contacts entries. I deleted the dupes manually and hotsync'd a 2nd time. All of the Contacts entries not duped during the first sync were duped during this 2nd sync on my Visor, and the entries duped on the first sync were deleted entirely from both Organizer and the Visor.
I sync'd with my desktop at home, which still had the entries that had been deleted. Even after numerous attempts, I could not get entries from Organizer to copy into the Visor (where they were absent). I finally set the Palm desktop to "desktop overwrites handheld" and sync'd again. I was finally able to get the entries missing on the Visor into it, but created a bunch of duplicates in Organizer during the process.
My old paper day-timer is looking real good about now. When does data transfer from desktop to handheld and vice-versa? When does data get deleted from either device? Any help in understanding the hotsync process would be very much appreciated.
We have an on-going thread about Lotus's EasySync here:

This is in reference to Lotus Notes, not sure how Lotus Organizer fits in, but if it uses easysync it's probably the same issues.
