-- minijam software? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=34340)

Unhappy minijam software?

I bought a Minijam on Ebay but without the software disc. Can't get Musicmatch to recognize the device. What can I do? Anyone got the software? Innogear's website has been down or (incorrect permissions) message comes up.
Help?

So you already have MusicMatch? You should be able to start it up and select Options->Add New Features. This will bring up a browser window and connect to a page at musicmatch.com. Click on the "Portable MP3 Players" link, then click on the InnoGear Minijam link to get the plugin. I don't know if this is available with the free version. The software that shipped with the Minijam included a license key for Musicmatch Jukebox Plus - if you didn't get the key, maybe you could contact the seller and have them look it up. This does, however, require a specific version of the minijam library and the rest of the minijam software. There used to be a third party company that had a discussion forum for minijam support - can't remember where it was right now (sorry!).

Update - the forum was at www.leroyl.com/innogear/index.php - Unfortunately, the forum was taken down due to abuse.

Did you have any luck finding your software? I'm looking for the MiniJam Library upgrade 1.04 or higher, and Speedloader. Innogear is of no help. I wonder what their trip is? Their website doesn't even explain why they don't give support. If they are out of business, at least they should post their software patches for past purchases... the consumer shouldn't be punished for their problems. How can they still sell their products with no support? Nice company.

Have the software for my Minijam. Won't be back home (where the CD resides) for a couple of weeks yet, but once I'm back, I'll try to remember to find it. Don't know if I can attach it to an e-mail or not, but perhaps we can figure something out...

I think I found what I was looking for except for minijam library upgrade 1.04 or higher. If you have that, let me know. The file should be fairly small.

MJLoader

I have the MJLoader if any of you all need it. It seems to work fine under Windows XP. It will let you move MP3's to the MiniJam and delete files from it, but you cannot move MP3's from the MJ to the PC.

You never could, it was always a 1 way trip,

probably to prevent "piracy" so some other lame thought.. as if I would use that slow ass minijam to pirate songs with my other minijam using buddies.. as I once posted eons ago.. there are far, far, far easier and faster ways to do that if one was so inclined.. i.e. using a CDR disc.. I honestly don't know why they did that.. just another stupid thing in a whole train of dumb ideas I suppose..

Question Direct MMC access

Is there a way to access the MMC directly from Windows? I presume it would take additional hardware. It would be nice if I could mount it as a drive.

No.. not when they are formated for use in the minijam.. If you want to use the mmc card as like a floppy disk and never with the minijam, then yes..

(unless you are a super duper windows programmer who knows how to write device drivers and can reverse engineer the MFJS filesystem the minijam uses)

Technically its a software issue..

(it has to do with the format of the mmc card its in a proprietary file system).. I have reformatted my old minijam mmc cards to be used in my new Palm Zire 71 and they work fine using a standard dos format.. and up until a little while ago I actually had used my old minijam to do it (I removed the Innogear software and installed the ZiO windows drivers, this makes the speedloader a normal mmc reader/writer, but at the sametime revokes your ability to use it with the minijam, its a one or the other choice.. since I no longer have my minijam it was a no brainier for me..)

As far as I know its not possible to have both loaded at the sametime and get a "dual" use.. and I know for certain you could never see the minijam format without the speedloader software..

Hey Avo,

Could you email me a copy of the software? I have a minijam, but can't use it as I don't have the loading software.

Thanks KtRanger.
