Got one yesterday. Very well made and writes well, but.......

Am I the only one that does *NOT* like the fact that the top sticks out?

I understand they were designed to be used with the cover on (I don't), but I seem to think it to be somewhat clumsey (sp?).

Agree / disagree / comments?

Feel the same way - Love the feel, but it just annoys the hell out of me that it sticks out so far. I use the case that came w/ my BVDx and like the fact that it's compact, but feel like I'm going to snag it on something! I'm thinking about sending mine back and just getting the five-pack... not sure, though.

Are you guys sure you have them fully seated? If mine stuck out any less, I would not be able to grab it to pull it out. As it is, I need to use my fingernails.

I got my PDA Panache today and , yeah, it sticks out a couple of millimeters. It does make it easier to pull out though.
I use the ice cover on my BVD and the PDA Panache does not stick out any taller that the ridge that makes up the top of the cover.
I would NOT recommend the 5pack over PDA Panache though. I only had to try out my new stylus for a couple of characters to know it is a MUCH better deal. Beware- the five pak from handspring uses the same hard plastic tips and there are ridges left on them from the extrusion process. They scratch just like the stock stylus. The shaft is a very smooth aluminum and tends to slip in your fingers easily. In contrast the PDA Panache orange tip is kind of "waxy" feeling and slips over the screen very nicely.
In addition, when I ordered my PDA Panache, they informed me it was on two week backorder with sincere apologies. It arrived 1 week later with a FREE stick stylus for the trouble. Excellent service! Anybody from HS listening??

Mine is going back. I agree it has a great feel. I could probably get past the fact it sticks out. What makes me crazy is if I don't even seat it all of the way it's still a pain to get back out because of the tight fit. And if I do seat it all of the way in, look out fingertips.

In spite of mixed reviews I have a 5-pack on the way. I lucked out on the stock stylus, maybe they won't be so bad. We'll see.

I've had my PDA Panache since christmas, and i love it. it really doesnt bother me that the stylus sticks out. just think of it as a Palm VII with a really short antenna... or whatever that thing is..

to wam: mine was a pretty tight fit when i first got it, but i suppose since i use my Visor so much ,that it loosed up so it's pretty easy to pull out to use and still is firmly secure while not in use

have a nice day..

I have the PDA Panache and love it. The extension is perfect for use in the best Visor case I've seen -- the Rhodiana. The extra length is perfect for retrieving the stylus from the case.

I, too, was concerned about the "extra" length when I received my Panache but soon I came to see its value.

Unhappy

I got a PDAPanache stylus a few weeks ago and, after some use and shifting in my briefcase, it seems the pressure of the diameter of the stylus fatigued the top of the Visor silo and the rear lip of the silo broke off. While it doesn't inhibit functionality, I really dislike the idea of my Visor being damaged. I have an email into PDAPanache now.

Question

Am I the only person who doesn't have any problems with the stock stylus?

I don't see any ridges on my stock stylus or the 5pack I bought (purely for looks, I don't like the black stylus in my blue case), and I would imagine that fine grit sandpaper would take care of them if there were any.

I'm thinking about getting the StylusPlus 4-way pen. I normally carry a pen anyway, and I like the idea of a full-size stylus instead of these little bitty things.

Anyone tried one out>

I purchased the 3 way stylus from autopoint. I bought it at Office Max for about $15.00. It has been very good and I would highly recommend it if you are wanting a full size stylus that also carries a pencil and a pen. The 4 way also has a highlighter but office max wasn't carrying those a month or so ago.

I checked out the five pack and learned they were still only half the weight of the PDAPanache. I'm going to stick with the Panache b/c of the extra weight though I'm not thrilled about the extra length - I'm sure I'll get over it.

My stock stylus worked well with no scratching, I just hated the weight.

One more thing - In waiting two weeks for my Panache, they included the stick stylus as well. I have to say I really like this Bic-type stylus!

Yes. That's the only thing that makes me somwhat nervous. If you look at the design, if something snagged the (top) tip of the stylus, and pressure was exerted, it seemigly could crack the silo (inward or more likely, outward).

I love the weight, tip and look of it. Maybe they will design one for use "out-of" the hard shell (tossed mine first day).

I think the 5-pack stylus are fine (bought one here) but like the PDA "feel" for everyday use.
