-- MiniJam BatteryPak Gone! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=13450)

Angry

Here we go again! Innogear has silently removed the MiniJam BatteryPak from its product offerings in nearly the same manner as it did the SixPak. Since the beginning of the year, I think, the description for the battery pack has said available in 2 weeks. I am really getting frustrated with their bulls**t way of doing business. Can it be that hard for them to make? I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was going to buy one.

Has anyone attempted to make one of their own? I tried to find the thread on that topic but couldn't locate it.

And this is a surprise?

I think any power supply designed to connect to the hot-sync connector will work.. (i.e. the emergency battery recharger for the prism should pass the power thru the pins to the springboard connector)

The minijam also has a DC in jack on the top, Radio Shack sells the correct connector ( I forget what the RS # is ), I think you could figureout the rest from there...

I own a minijam and have been impressed with its quality. However, like many others have griped about, Innogear is terrible as a business. I think that if they're going to put stuff on their website, e.g. battery pack and six pack they should at least know that they're going to be able to follow through. Maybe they should not post any new products on their website until they actually created the product and are beginning to manufacture them because I'm getting pretty frustrated with them dropping products from their website.

I am almost speechless with the frustration I have with their company.

I promised I would never buy a product from them. So, what did I do, I purchased a used MiniJam for less than retail. But, my reasoning was that my money wasn't going to Innogear. Alas, they do it again....

I don't know what to say... what I would say would be so inappropriate for this message board that I will leave it at that.

I bet we will never see one upgrade for the MiniJam decoding ever. PeanutBooks, pics, and music... right!

In my mind, redemption will only come if they finally realease an update to filemover that allows us to put stuff on the MMC.. but that probably won't be happening, so that's why I have my matchbookdrive

Same here - I would also suggest a memplug as an alternative to the matchbook, that's what I finally did..

I figured six months was more than enough time to develop the software necessary for files on the Minijam's MMC and also (luckily) the memplug was released.

Slacker is probably getting a good chuckle out of this thread.. (slacker - no need to post.. I can already hear your comments! )

Yes -- well sort of. I have a friend who maintains TV transmitters and he was able to build a battery pack for me.

I am sorry, I am really new to owning a MiniJam... can I only buy Innogear's MMC cards?

I want more memory, but this current event is only more reason for me to never support this company.

Any MMC card should work fine.. You will need to format the MMC card with the Minijam (some menu has it as an option somewhere), most MMC cards as sold formatted in the FAT file system, the minijam uses a proprietary MJFS file system, so the card wont work until it is re-formatted.

I'm confused

I'm confused. Innogears site still lists the MiniJam battery pack as a product and says it will be available in 4 to 6 weeks for $19.00. Here is the link to the product:

http://store.innogear.com/index.cfm...1&details=1

are you sure you didn't find an orphaned page?

They were most likely updating the page. (?) It now says that it can be used to power the Prism - "Can be used without a MiniJam to power your Visor Prism in an emergency!" I don't remember that being there before. (Then again, it's been a long time since I visited their site...)

Angry Yea right...

I am sure vaporgear will never release any product without them breaking some part of what they claim their products or lack of a product (Sixpack) can do.

Well how do you like that! They put it back! Of all the low down, dirty... Maybe they still read this board.

Honest, it wasn't there before

Posted by EricG on 03-29-2001 04:37 PM:
