Since there are direct USB/Ethernet connectors out there, why couldn't you use one with the Visor USB port if you had the TCP stack installed and necessary drivers? I guess the real problem would be the client side, but why not a web client to your MS Exchange server, or some sort of remote control software? Would be handy in a pinch, or as a remote network node.
