I'm trying to come up with a good idea for an "Engineer's Helper" type Springboard. Possibly one that would contain a voltameter, oscilloscope, function generator, etc. Could anyone give me an idea of what they would like to see on one of these and also how much they would expect to pay. Also, if anyone could tell me how easy/difficult it would be to cram multiple devices onto a single Springboard it would be most helpful. Thanks!

I would just go for a simple voltmeter / ohmeter design. I'm a chem major by training, and most of our measurements done in the lab are voltage measurements.

I don't know if the Springboard module is the best platform for this. Reasons:

A: It locks the user into one particular platform. Not necessarily a good idea, even though visors are nice units one has to consider that the average lifespan of a good piece of test equipment is 1 or 2 DECADES. And NO PDAs have withstood the test of time for *that* long. (Hell, we still use 15 year old voltmeters for potentiometric titrations).

B: High barrier of entry - if marketed at the educational level. TI already dominates the field as far as educational data collection units goes, with their CBL/CBL2/CBR units.

C: High barrier of entry - if marketed at the PROFESSIONAL level. At that level, the pros are much more likely to get a Fluke Dititalscope. 8-)

Incorporate resistance, volt-a-meter, amp-a-meter, and some other random things and I'd probably buy it. If it was cheaper then a multimeter I can get somewhere else.
