Delux turns off with increasing frequency

My Delux has been turning itself off. The auto off is set at 2 minutes. I stays on for shorter and shorter times. I've replaced the akline battries several times. The battery symbol shows a nearly full battery. Finally it will not turn on unless I take out the battries for at least 30 minutes and re-synch a full back-up from my desk top computer. Could there be a 3rd party softeware problem here? Or must I buy a new one?
