Question Why PalmOS 3.5 ?

Hi,
just about to buy a PalmOS device. As everybody i am comparing models, features, etc. I am almost sure that visor pro is what i want. My only doubt is.... why is it using PalmOS 3.5 when 4 (4.1?) is out there? can it be upgraded? Thanks (i am quite new at this world, though I used to have a Palm III) Thanks!!!

R

3.5h is what the pro uses. As of right now, there is lil in 4.0 out there. The pro has some nice features, 16mbs of storage, plus fast lookup, which comes in handy. The memory of the pro is not flash upgradable, but to be honest, its really not such a big deal right now. I think the pro is a wise choice if your not concerned with form factor. Nice thing about a pro is all the springboard modules are compatible. I personally have a pro with a sprint digital link, and works wonders for me. The bottom line, it comes down to useage.(power user pro) or form factor (edge). good luck on your choice.

Well, you're missing VFS support for expansion cards like memplug and Flashplus (i.e. for SD and CF cards), a little notepad--which can be bettered by 3rd party, free, solutions, some bug fixes, a neat little clock app, compatibility with very poorly written apps (none I can think of), and bragging rights.

...in other words, nothing that can't be matched or beaten by 3rd party software, usually free.
