Does the memplug function like a visor memory module? Essentially I want to know if you can run apps off of the memplug like you can the 8meg module (assuming you don't have to write any data to the app or can keep their databases in RAM).

thanks

Not yet...

There is a special version of CSpotRun that can read Palm Docs stored on the card, but it resides in RAM.

In addition to CSpotRun you can view gMedia (Movies & Pictures) and JPEGs off the module.

Richard,

Other companies and developers are looking at providing Memplug support in addition to CSpotRun - posted in other threads are mention of Launcher III, TealMovie, and possibly others that I've missed here.

I have sent requests to Thinking Bytes for ThinkDB support of databases on Memplug, and to the folks that do Mapopolis to read maps off of Memplug. I had a reply from Mapopolis that they are looking at this for the next release!

All of us Memplug users need to let our favorite app developers know we want support - the more requests they get, the more likely it will be done.

I haven't asked for apps to run directly off of Memplug, though - for my uses, just being able to store large amounts of data on the SmartMedia card is a big help.
