Mine's not nearly as interesting...I never had to pick a nickname till I got a computer job...and my sysop insisted I use the lastname-first-initial format (my father...so my complaints got nowhere). I tried complaining, but everyone from my boss up said that he gets the final word. I'm Tim Hatch...all the professors think it's cool to be "thatch" but they wouldn't let me at the office...so here I am.

Lame, huh?

Moose Man stems from an issue at college - Fresno State University - when I went there in the mid-70's there were 4 Richard's living on the same wing of the dorm. It was too confusing for naming or calling one of us Rich, Richie, Richard, Rick etc. It was easier to use some nickname. This term had been given to me by my girlfriend - so it stuck.
