-- Battery Use with Module (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=15775)
Hi!
I am trying to determine something that I have not seen documented. I just got a Visor Platinum with an 8MB Flash Springboard module for my birthday. I've noticed I've been going through the battery pretty quick. I know part of that may simply be "new toy syndrom," however, I was wondering: does having a Springboard module in place inherently draw battery power more quickly than without?
thanks,
iCharles
I would say "no".
The 8MB Flash module is one of the first that I got, and I don't really see a difference in battery life with it being in or out. I did go through batteries fairly often, but I was also backing up once a day, Hotsyncing several times, and using the backlight often (that and my Thinmodem+ are the biggest offenders). I am doing better now, I only backup once or twice a week, and Hotsync about as often (the first step is to admit you have a problem).
My experience is about 3 weeks out of a pair on alkalines.
