Can not surf the web with xircom 56k global access modem

My Visor Edge is giving me problems. First off I just found a web browser Eudora. My desktop ISP is Earthlink. I can log on but I can not connect to any web sites or Eudora web will return me a message like sike could not be found. What is wrong? Is there anything else I need. Can someone with the same configuration walk me through the set up procedure believe me I am fit to be tired. I am all E-A-R-S

I use the same modem to connect to Earthlink as well. Here is my configuration:

Preferences -> Connection
Name: Standard Modem
Connection Method: Serial to Modem
Dialing: TouchTone
Volume: Off

Details tab:
Speed: 57,6000 bps
Country: USA
Flow Ctl: Automatic
Init String: AT&FX4


Preferences -> Network:
Service: Earthlink (create one if it does not exist)
User Name: ELN/username (must type in "ELN")
Password: yourpassword
Connection: Standard Modem
Phone: xxxxxxxxxx

Details tab:
Connection type: PPP
Idle timeout: Power Off
Query DNS: checked
IP Address: Automatic checked

Script: End
