Type away with ThumBoard
There seem to be quite a few "mini" keyboards popping up everywhere these days. Lisa Rosselli takes a look at Seiko's model - the Thumboard.

Talking of mini keyboards
I was just in my local CompUSA (Mt Laurel, NJ) and they had a new mini clam-style keyboard from a company called iConcepts. It was only for the Sony Clie's and iPaqs, but looked darn good.
I can't find any information about them on the web, I was hoping that they had a Handspring version too.
I had planned to get a mini-board to use for AIM with YadaYada on the bus, glad I didn't buy one now. Might get a $20 off Landware keyboard though. Just a thought.
Turning on the power
I noticed in the photo that there is a power button on the Thumboard, obviously to turn on the power. But I was wondering how this is implemented.
The article states that the TB uses no batteries. Does it tuen the Visor on via the hotsync port, or by mechanical means to the power button?
The only compliant that I have about my Stowaway is not being able to turn the power on via the keyboard. When the unit goes to sleep in a meeting, it would be great to be able to "just start typing" or the like and pick up where you left off instead of first using the power button on the unit.

Hadn't really thought abot it before but it must be through the hotsync port, because I just looked at it and it's not mechanical.
Great idea but it doesn't work with the Prisim. The Prisim case is too "fat" for the case. The company says it has no present plans to produce a Prisim version. Wonder why not ?
