OK...I just gave my wife a blue Visor Deluxe with all kinds of promises of new worlds
But, getting kind of confused and certainly could use some help. OK...Email. We both access email from one computer at home. I use Outlook 2000 and my wife uses AOL. Now I can set her an account for Outlook (which I did), but how do I set it so it just downloads her e-mail? Can she just sccess her AOL? Any help would be great.
Thanks (2:00 AM)
Any Kind Hearted Souls out there? (nm)
Still confused on how to get Visor to pull e-mail from wife's account and not mine.....
Check on AOL's site for more information on this. I have heard that there is a way to sync directly with AOL's Mail, but I haven't tried it myself. I don't use AOL, but it would be good for me to know as well, so I'll dig a little myself and see if I can find anything.

from David Pogue in "Palm Pilot, The Ultimate Guide 2nd Ed."( from O'Rielly) starting on page 381:
"America Online
In general, America Online's mail system isn't compatible with the usual email standards used by the rest of the Internet. That's why so few Palm email programs can get mail from America Online. However, if your email program is with AOL, you're not necessary (sic) out of luck."
He then goes on to describe several programs that can help you.
TransAOL, which shunts your AOL email from your pC to your handheld and HandMail (with it's accompanying app called HandMail AOL) seems like your best bets.
I also seem to recall that AOL offers some kind of plug in/ application. You might try a search on AOL for that.
Good Luck and welcome aboard!

My spouse and I share the same computer so what we did is set up Outlook Express for her e-mail (Visor) and Outlook for mine (Palm Vx).
One of my friends have AOL Mail but, I think, it only works with a dedicated Palm OS modem. Check out palmgear.com or handango.com for possible AOL mail conduits.
Found something!
Check out this link: http://www.aol.com/anywhere/pda/palm/palmaol/
It mentions their newer program AOL for Palm (Which apparently requires a modem) and it also mentions an older program, AOL Mail for Palm. You might look into these to see if they will help you out.

Using AOL Anywhere, your palm device must use a modem to get your AOL e-mail. I talked to a couple reps at CES, and they are currently running a beta version of palm address which will hotsync your AOL address book and your palm. But soon they will be releasing their palm e-mail (in beta also). If you go to AOL Keyword 'palm beta', you can sign up to become one of their beta testers, or you can wait until their general release.
Hope this info helps.
