-- Visor made by 3Com!!! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=676)
In a lighter vein, here is an excerpt from the description section of an e-Bay listing:
"Bran spankin new VISOR DELUXE, made by 3com."
Is it for real? did 3-com make a visor type device that uses springboards?
No 3com had nothing to do with the Visor/Springboard
The CSR told me Visors are made in Malaysia. So are some 3Com Palms. I would not be surprised if they are actually made in the same factory. Does anyone know?
huh?
I don't think 3com has anything to do with the visor. half the things posted on e-bay aren't true. how could u fall for it?
Well i didnt know if he was reading right or if 3com implumented the springboard or if he was trying to act like a jerk or what not
From the replies to my post it looks like other Visorcentral users have not understood that is was posted in "a lighter vein. What I wished to indicate was that a person selling his/her Visor on eBay did not even know which company makes the Visor! I copied the excerpt verbatim (the spelling mistake is not mine) from the Description section of the eBay listing.
Personally, I think the "bran spankin" part of the original message is a more disturbing image and belongs on alt.sex.SM.whole.grains rather than EBay.
I mean really, do want our precious PDA linked with such practices? Next it'll be Visors and "cracked wheat" or "rye thrashin" or some other deviant cereal behavior. :-)
Hmm....my Visor does seem to have developed a preference for rolled oats.....
I catch the jest, but in a way, I wouldn't be surprised.
Let's think about this. 2 people start a cool company called Palm, find they haven't really got the resources to hit the big time, sell out to 3Com. SOMEHOW in what must surely be one of the great bargaining victories of all time, although they SELL out to 3com they manage to get the right from 3com to license the PalmOS that they sold, knock off a veritable duplicate of the Palm, add a few enhancements and cut the price in half, seriously threatening 3com's market. I guess the non-compete clause wasn't negotiated too effectively by 3com. Who knows what else they missed?
