-- Graffiti "Y" (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10200)

I am having a hard time writing the letter "Y" . It usually turns out as an "X". Any ideas how to get better recognition?

Try writing it as a cursive Y without lifting the stylus of the screen.

See the letter "K" above in Mark's screen shot? Try the same stroke, but rotate it so that the loop is on the bottom...

Lightbulb

Still easier: write an "8" in the letter side of the Graffiti area. You'll get a "Y" every time.

Cool

Check these out:

I also found this tip from [email protected]:
Most of the Graffiti characters correspond to symmetrical rotations or flips of eight basic strokes. Even though these strokes might not look -quite- like the corresponding letter, they are recognized 99.99% of the time.

The strokes and the letters/other_things they produce are listed below.
The names of the strokes are intended to help remember them. The complexity of the strokes increases downwards, with loops considered more complex than open strokes.

code:
Stroke Letters ------ --- --- --- --- Arch U A V C 90-degree Bend T F L J Double Arch M B W E Snake H N S Z Full Loop X Y K Half Loop P G Circle O D

The strokes that don't fit into the symmetry groups for letters (although some have symmetry as punctuation) are:
code:
Vertical Stroke I Circle with Tail Q Capital R R
