I copied a bunch of data and programs from internal to external, now File Mover no longer works. I get a memory error and lockup. Have to reset.

Paulench,
More info please- have a flash module and wouldn't like to have that happen. What kind of programs did you move?

I found the only fix was one of the OPTIONS under FileMover: "Format Module". That flushed the module clean and I could then run File Manager to copy files.
I had originally tried to copy everything from the INTERNAL memory to the EXTERNAL module. Everything seemed to copy all right, but then when I tried to delete things from the module, it wouldn't let me in.
I'm not sure what I'll use the 8MBFlashModule module for. I think I should have bought the back-up module.

I have both and have been using the 8mb flash to hold "static" programs like docs and other read only programs to free up space on the Visor for other programs. I personally couldn't do without BOTH. It sounds like you don't have a defective module. You probably just moved a program that couldn't run off the 8mb flash (there are quite a few from what I read). If you're looking to back-up you data, theres a great thread in Modules going on right now (Back up Buddy vs. Back up module) that gives some great info on the different possibilities.
If you don't need the 8mb flash you might might it in buy/sell. There seems to be a lot of movement of goods going on.
Good Luck!
Michael
