-- Anyone used a gameboy cartridge case for their modules? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=13815)

Question

You can now buy replacement gameboy cartridges cases for $3-4 for 5 of them. (New gameboy games rarely come with the cases anymore)
Since the backup and flash modules are approx. the same size, I was wondering if anyone had tried using a gameboy case to store them in.

Yes... stole some from my kids!

I use the GameBoy cartridge cases for my Backup Module (which can usually be found in my pocket), the Thinmodem, and my CF adapter module. For standard sized modules, they work great!

I used'm for a while but now I just put them all together in either a camera case or a padded Palm case. I think the modules are pretty much sturdy enough & the GameBoy cases add a bit too much bulk, plus if you don't put something in there with most modules they'll move around a lot.

I use them and find they work pretty well. If my MemPlug were just a bit thinner, it would also fit into one. I actually carry my Prism around in a Gameboy Color padded case because I can fit it and four modules. Five modules if I have one in the Prism. Of course, it would not go over well in all situations considering it says "Gameboy Color" in different color letters on the front.

I use one I picked up at a garage sale (50 cents) for my Backup module. Works great. It can move around a little bit but not too much.

While most modules may be sturdy it never hurts to protect them from dirt and water. I toss my modules in my backpack and with the small case to protect them I dont worry.

Yup. I'm keeping my backup module in one also. I keep it in the little plastic bag it came in so it doesn't slide around in the case.

Funny... I've been considering using a gameboy bag as well.
