Yet Another Stowaway Problem

I recently got a open-item Stowaway from Best Buy, and it works great with my visor deluxe. Seeing how much I liked it, and how my mom was always wanting to borrow it in the evening to do work on her VDX, my dad got her one from Office Depot (closeout special, thanks VC!!) for Valentine's day.

However, my mom's stowaway has not been working properly at all. Many keys refuse to work, most notably the Datebook and ToDo buttons, and the Shift button. At other times, keys such as backspace have not worked either. Sometimes we can get these keys to work by keeping pressing on them or by repeatedly pressing the keys, but not very often.

We are at the point where we want to return the Stowaway to targus to get a new one. We considered returning it to office depot, but decided all we would get is a refund since we picked up the last one in Omaha, and in order to get another keyboard from best buy, we would have to shell out another $50 bucks and pay full price. Me and my dad both recently tried registering our keyboards online with Targus, but both of us recieved a message saying someone has already registered with our e-mail addresses, though neither of us have ever purchased anything from Targus before. We will call up the Tech Support line tommorow and see what they say. (On another matter, their online FAQ gave their tech support number for everywhere EXCEPT the U.S. ... we had to look in the manual that came with the keyboard for the U.S. number.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before and offer any help? Thx

Same problem....

I also picked up the keyboard at the OfficeDepot blow-out and I have exactly the same problem. For me the keys change, but usually on the right side of the keyboard. I've found that holding the key down usually will kick-start it into action. On thing I have considered is a driver update. I believe there are updated versions than what came in the box. I have not tried this yet, but if it helps I'll post another reply here. I also havn't bothered to call support yet. If they have any useful suggestions please post them.

On a good note, my two year old found my keyboard when I wasn't looking and dumped it into the dog's water dish. After a day drying out, it still works as well as it did. Better a few keys acting flakey than the whole thing not working.

I have tried both versions of the software (1.5 out of the box, 1.6 on the web) and the same thing happens with both. I will wait and see what Targus says in the morning.
