...Well, gosh, it's already happened. I am now septimus.

...I figured I ought not use my real name anymore for just posts--they're kinda by the seat of my pants and I want to make all my stalkers work a little to get to me...

..now the real question: who can guess the source of my new moniker?

(p.s. Thanks for Miradu for the help!)

Oh, god, NO! AAHHH! Maybe I should have vetted the name some more, a google search brought up a "Female fronted heavy metal band from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada"

If I wasn't so incredibly lazy, I would change my username from my real name to something clever.

Some possible ideas:
GOP2004
InjureAllDemocrats (Don't worry, I won't use this!)
HebrewDude
Ichabod (Washburn University Mascot)
2Good4You

Any others?

I am really surprised that you changed your name! You are like a fixture here...your name is a brand like Toby, Dick-Richardson, ToolKit et als. Its going to take me a while to get used to this new Septimus moniker thingie sigh.

The first name of a 19th century composer?

Come to think of it, he looks a little like your current avatar...

Oh, flips, such good effort! But sorry, not yet.... btw; my current avatar is me three-four years ago..

yardie: when I was a kid, my sister changed her name from "Katie" to "Kate." I did not like it, either.

Ahh...but are you _really_ septimus, or is that just something you want people to call you. Hmm...wonder if I should change my alias to ReverendToby now...

Bah. I say damn the torpedoes. Any internet stalker who tries to find me may wind up in "Southern Comfort II".

It's an anagram for what you most desire to be: Sumi's pet or *shudder* Imus's pet.

I'm Sparticus! No, I'm Sparticus!

"The bond between the signifier and the signified is arbitrary. Since I mean by sign the whole that results from the associating of hte signified with the signified, I can simply say: the linguistic sign is arbitrary"

...or so says Sassure. Is this the case with self-chosen names?

*shudder* is right, although I've never seen the guy. I didn't think it would be this hard to figure out. C'mon, I'm an *English* major...

Ask Chaim Witz. Personally I would find it ironic if your namesake was the speaker of the following quote (especially since your reason for choosing seems to be 'lost anonymity'):
quote:
You should no more grieve for the rest than for a buckle lost from your first shoe, or for your lesson book which will be lost when you are old. We shed as we pick up, like travellers who must carry everything in their arms, and what we let fall will be picked up by those behind. The procession is very long and life is very short. We die on the march. But there is nothing outside the march so nothing can be lost to it. The missing plays of Sophocles will turn up piece by piece, or be written again in another language.
quote:

So was Sumi!

I refuse to partake in such inanity. The good name of dick-richardson shall not be sullied.

Nice. I hadn't heard of the Stoppard play. I'll have to take a look at it, it looks cool--maybe a better namesake than my original choice...

IOW, not yet...

I see. This must be a part of your decision to become enigmatic.

S. Severus? The Roman?
It's Latin, right?

Nope. Though Severus is the first instance of the name that can find.

I guess. So is much of English...
