Talking

This is silly. If you are going to say something, then say it. Don't play mind games.

This was a very unresponsible posting!

At least 250 waiting Visor fans now peed their pants in excitement!

Lightbulb

I admit that it's sad, but I haven't been this excited since the birth of my youngest child!

Well, if you go to http://www.handspring.com you will notice that they seem to have changed it to http://info.handspring.com which means they are probably going to use more than one site and balance the load depending on what you're after...

Red face

That's just great ... now we all have to goto the Handspring site 100's of times today just to see if something has been added or changed.

What a minute ... we were all doing that already. Nevermind.

Holding out on the rest of us? or are you just trying to get post to become a member instead of a Junior Member?

Very uncool to post something like this that does not have anything tangible about it.

Do you think they'd unveil a new product this soon after Internet World? I don't know if that'd be such a wise move. Of course, now that interest is *extremely* high, a new "kick-you-in-the-butt-and-take-your-name" PDA could be just what the doctor ordered. As long as it doesn't make those with ordered Visor's feel left out... Of course, like everybody else, I'll be watching the site tomorrow just as I'm watching it today.

I don't think they will announce a competing product before the current one is out the door. They would get too many people who decided to wait a little longer and choose not to order the Visor, or who cancel their current order.

Does anyone remember why Osborn computers went out of bisness?

If they announce a new product it will be an add-on (new Springboard, or desktop software), or a totally diffrent device (not a Palm IV or Palm V like device either).

Handspring will not release a new product tomorrow. The have to get the Visors out the door first. Since the website is now info.handspring.com, they are probably going to launch the store under a different server to handle the load. I checked on store.handspring.com, and something was there, not a site up yet, but my browser didn't reject the server as not existing. Look for the rebirth of the Handspring site. That, I think is the company's main priority right now.

Well, you can see that they are moving in the right direction. Looks like two web boxes and a commerce box. Note the DNS server (handspring.com)is running off of the main web box.

I can't believe they didn't do this to begin with; they have to be losing thousands every day their store is down due to customers going elsewhere, not to mention the loss of confidence for consumers when they see the site is down. Since a pretty functional web server can be had ~$1000, its seems ridiculous not to beef up the hardware.

I agree. Does anyone know who the original outfit contracted to do the site is and if they are still the ones handling the site.

... just curious.

According to VisualRoute (cool app) - http://www.visualroute.com - they are using Exodus Communications.

That must be some sorta' record for the number of replies generated by a substance-less post.

Hmmm... Stuart142 seems to be a little quiet...

For a short time Sunday night this was up at the handspring site, but it was rerouted today... http://www.handspring.com/cgi-bin/Handspring.storefront
They seem to have removed some elements of the site recently... Hmmm, I wish they would make up they're mind...
Sorry for getting all your hopes up... I'll try to get into another section of the unpublished site tonight...
