Wondering...is there any advantage to having a Platinum and OS 3.5 over the VDX and OS 3.1 when connecting the Visor to a cell phone and surfing the Net? Any additional features with OS 3.5 or any limitations with OS 3.1?

You need addition software such as IrLink is needed for Infrared connectivity on OS 3.1. I believe OS 3.5 has this capability built in. OS 3.5 can display 16 shades of gray natively, while 3.1 can only display 2-4.
