Anyone tried to use Network Hotsynch to get around the backordered serial cradle problem?

I've got a Mac with no USB ports in my office and an iMac outside. I can walk back and forth to check my calendar, but it's kind of stupid, especially when my appointment alarms go off in the lab instead of in my office (at least my Visor will beep!).

I'd like for the cradle on the iMac to see the Palm desktop on my other mac. I suspect that this can be done in Windows but the features described in the Visor user manual don't correspond to what I see on my Mac.
