Modem Hotsync

I'm trying to use my new Thinmodem to hotsync - but the HS Manager won't see the Com3 my internal computer modem connects too - it only offers Com1, which doesn't connect to anything. What do I do next?

what OS are you running?

It would help if you could tell us what OS and is it the latest version of desktop. I'm on Win2K and I have the option of selecting com1-4 but I only have com1-2 in actuality.

A Win2K machine, Desktop 3.1. I found the problem - I had to reinstall desktop as an Administrator. Then I could log in as myself and desktop would see the modem.
