um ... not to be overly critical or anything (like I ever do that) but isn't "settling down" the same thing as "the white picket fence thing"? unless yer Tom Sawyer or something.

How about most jobs?!
I can't win either youngest or oldest (1963), but I bet I can make a run for guy with the most jobs under his belt per years under the sun and moon. Let's see newspaper delivery boy, lawnmowing, snake wrangler, dishwasher, motherboard packer (don't ask), supermarket stockboy, movie theater concessionist, movie theater usher (diff. theater) USMC (one MOS, four different posts), piano/furniture moving, movie theater projectionist/maintainance, stone mason, carpenter, auto parts store, glassblower, property manager, cabinetmaker, bootmaker, leather worker, product designer, marketing, contractor, business owner (vintage feathers), car sales, and store owner. I think that is all (although my memory is going). That's 25 in 39 years or 1.56 a year since birth.
I still can't figure out how I had the time to sire three boys!
I didn't include anything that I didn't do for at least six months straight.

"Mmmm interesting... care to tell more about that?"
About seven years ago we bought 135+ acres withn old house and a barn (along with various other outbuildings). The barn was completely full of cr*p. That cr*p turned out to contain the entire stock of a defunct millinery (hat making) supply company. It had been stored in the barn for approx. 50 years. After we removed a lot of junk we uncovered boxes and boxes of pristine hat trimmings, most of them feather ornaments. The factories that made these no longer exist, or are no longer making them, so they are sought after.
We sell directly to most of the best custom hatmakers in the US and UK (Philip Treacy who does Chanels' hats (and his own) bought a huge lot from us). You can see our stuff at our website(which admittedly is in dire need of updating and revising) at Vintage Feathers . We currently come up as the number one site on Google searches for "vintage feathers".
