-- It's Dead! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=15759)
After having my Blue VDX for a year and a half, it is suddenly dead. Please help with any ideas to recover it. I can't get the unit to power up using the power button, other buttons or by inserting a springboard module.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Bill
I'm sorry if this sounds remedial, but have you tried resetting it? I had a very similar problem just this last weekend. It turned out that it was a goofy conflict between two different programs that were accidentally scheduled to run at the same time. (runtime and matrix)

Silly questions, but..
The batteries are good, right?
And you did try a reset, right?
Sorry, but neither one was mentioned in your email.

I'm sorry to hear that. Same thing happened with one of my Prisms (I'm on #3), and was able to get a replacement unit. It was fine on a Friday night, and on Saturday, completely dead.
Not meaning to sound simplistic, but are the batteries ok? If you have a warranty on it, you could get a new one.
Deepest Sympathy,

Thanks for the help.
I guess I was so despondent that I forgot the basics. I did have good batteries and swapped them out anyway with no luck. The hard reset was the saver of the dead visor. Any ideas on what may have caused it to die? I haven't really installed anything new lately. Sorry for asking the stupid question but it worked on getting my visor back.
When mine locked up it was because my battery monitor (Runtime) attempted to wake up my visor briefly to record a data point. Unfortunately, I was running Matrix as a security tool which requires a password to be entered on power-up. When Runtime woke up, Matrix blocked it and my Visor was frozen. It even stopped the internal clock!
