Lightbulb

I just saw the coolest thing while walking around Carnegie Mellon campus in Pittsburgh. A guy was walking with his Powerbook G3 (lombard) with a WaveLan 2Mbit card and playing a movie over the wireless net. I had to stop him and ask what that was all about. He said that the CMU/Upitt area has a 802.11 wireless network that can be accessed with the WaveLan type cards and new Apple wireless stuff.

Now THAT is what we need for a springboard. I think this already exists for WinCE devices...which makes it real tempting to switch to WinCE...

Cool

Yep, the wireless setup they have there at CMU is nice.

As far as I know, there isn't a 802.11 board for WinCE. I think Proxim makes a wireless LAN board for WinCE devices, but it's their own proprietary protocol.

The only 802.11 handheld I know of is Symbol's SPT 1740, a PalmOS compatable. Now if Symbol would just put that technology into a Springboard, we'd be set.
