So I'm wondering if all those "ValueAmerica Dropouts" have gotten their cheap Palm III's yet... From day one, Handspring said, "We will start shipping in the middle of October." and sure enough, they pulled through. Kudos to them (and WOOHOO! for me).

I'll believe it when someone gets on this board and says theirs arrived. Until then, it's still an unconfirmed statement.

I agree with Jackal. Has anyone checked their credit card on line yet. No charge to my VISA as yet, and I ordered my Visor at 11:30am CDT on September 14 (that raises an interesting question - who was first at 8:00am EDT on September 14?)

There's still too much CSR confusion for my taste; but I have to admit, I hope everyone's right, because I returned my Palm Vx this morning before the return period expired. Just hope I made the right choice (the Palm Vx is so small compared to the Palm III size factor!) But, the Springboard siren was calling....

I just got off the phone with a Handspring CSR and after a few minutes she finally got my order up on her computer. She told me that the VDlx that I ordered has already been shipped. I ordered mine on Sept. 17th or 18th. So keep up the faith!!

I'm not sure why so many of you are doubting the fact that the Visors are shipping. This is not rumor or speculation.

Handspring has officially anounced that they are shipping now! If any of you don't believe that, just go to their web site.

I also made that fateful call tonight. After a 40 min wait, a friendly (friendly is a good thing after 40 mins on hold!)CSR told me that my VDx made the first batch and was "shipped out today". I was given an ETA of "late this week or early next" on a VDlx originally ordered around Noon EDT on 9/14 shipped via UPS ground. My B-Day is Thursday, but I doubt I could get so lucky.

As you go online to check to see if the transaction is on your credit card, don't forget that it usually takes a couple of days after a transaction before it actually posts on your credit card.

I ordered mine October 1; you guys are a bunch of lucky stiffs! Congratulations and enjoy; it's Christmas/Hanukkah in October.

Yeehaw! I hope this is all true!

BTW, I also ordered a VA IIIx (for reasons I have explained in a previous post) on monday night at about 10:00 pm central time and it was on my doorstep wednesday evening! Not bad! So yes, to the previous poster who wondered if the VA dropouts had recieved the IIIx's. I have, but I am not a drop out. Hopefully my Visor will arrive early next week.

In a previous thread I was told the warehouse is near their offices in Mountain View, and then, rather confidently, in Fremont. So expect it about 10/25.

I spoke with a very nice CSR this evening after about a 30 minute wait. He told me:

I ordered on the 14th, 15th, 16th, or 17th. He could tell this because I was in the database that "can't be updated". - It's too late to change my order, it's gone to shipping.

They cannot confirm shipment, they don't have that info.

He didn't know where they ship from, he's in Canada. He thinks they probably ship from SF (CA) area.

Best guess is that I'll get mine mid week.

Just checked my Visa and its been charged so I should have it Monday or Tuesday hopefully! Some might get theirs today if they had overnight shipping - but will they always do that on Saturdays? If not I guess Monday will be the big day...

Unfortunately I ordered standard shipping (I wasn't told of any other option at the time) so I probably won't get mine until the end of the week. (I'm in Rochester New York)

Well, I too ordered mine on the 14th, but I changed my color to Blue from Graphite last week. I wonder if that will delay the shipping of my Visor?

It's not supposed to delay things ... the (unofficial) policy is that they were going to ship based on the date of the orginal order. I hope that is still the case, because I added a Serial Cradle to my order.

To add more confusion, I placed my order on Sept 15 for next day and just called HS to confirm. They said mine will ship next week.

Well, Handsprung, judging by the "What Color Did You Order" thread it looks like you ordered about seven hours earlier than I did. Which might explain why your card's been charged and mine hasn't yet. Usually I see the charge (but not the name) from dinner even when I just get back from the restaurant. Anybody else? Card charged?
