Do-it-yourself clear vinyl because it's cheap and works well...

I agree with Mark. I use a transparancy from my school. Got it in March, and it's still on there. I'll probably replace it when school starts again.
On a side note, I see a flame war starting.

I use Avery's window decals. Their cheap, and they work. They don't cut glare though..
I agree this topic is going to be by tommorow a big flame.

ben, in response to your post, i believe that that should come to arrise soon as well, regaurding the warman issue...for all of you who are planning on starting posts similar to that, STAY ON TOPIC! THIS POST IS TO HELP OUT THE NEW PEOPLE TO THE VDX's AND OTHERS WHO WANT A QUALITY SCREEN PROTECTION DEVICE/THINGY!
-just stay on topic and simply state your favorite screen protector and why, and THATS IT! dont start offtopic conversations!-
that probably wont help, but hey...

I use and like the Write Wrights. I got the hang of applying them after the second application. They greatly reduce glare and improve graffiti. They are a little pricy, IMHO.
Do I get a gold star, Liquidator?

The one I hate - WriteRights
The one I 'like' - WriteRights :|
They are the only ones I have used on my Visor - but I don't have any screen scratches
I'm lazy...
WriteRights for IIIc. They are clear and I don't have to cut them myself.
I WAS using the window decals (I still like those, BTW) but I got lazy. (Total impulse buy - they were calling my name the last time I was in Best Buy. It just so happened that it was time for me to cut out a new screen protector... hmmm...)
I'll probably also try the WR's for the PocketPC's - once I get one of my buddies to buy a package, and we trade a couple.
(I saw on another thread they fit even better than the IIIc WR's.)

ive heard that the WR's for the visor's are really blurry, is this true? and that if you get the ones for the Palm IIIc that its supaclear, but does the one for the Palm IIIc cut down on stracthing?
im trying to determine which one to buy...i want a product that will reduce the straching, be semi-easy to apply, doesnt HAVE to cut glare, etc etc... the main thing is cutting straches and being readable...im going for the palm IIIc WR's...opions wanted

The only ones I used till today are the WrightRights. They are expensive, ja you are right but I like them. They reduce glare and it is easier to write on them.
Chris
I used WriteRights for a long time but a hated how blurry they made my screen. So now I just cut and use enough of the WriteRight to cover the Graffiti area of my screen.
Avery Window Decals. They aren't as cheap as vinyl, but are more readily available. They're about $7.50 for a box of 6 and I can get 9 protectors out of each sheet for a total of 54 protectors. They do show marks, but I've found that they last for 3 - 5 weeks before needing to be replaced.

I like the WriteRights for the Pocket PC.
i just started using the WriteRights for WinCE. i like them. they dont seem to darken the screen much, theres much less glare, and they fit pretty well. the WriteRight protector was getting pretty scratched up by the stylus that came with my visor, but my new pda panache stylus works great with it.
Writerights
I've used regular WriteRights for months, and don't have a problem with them. Expensive, sure. "Blurry" isn't what I would use to describe them. They're textured to cut glare, but it's not different than buying a frame with clear glass or anti-glare. Sure, the anti-glare isn't quite as clear, but I've never had a problem reading, and I DON'T like glare.
By the way - I think a lot of people seem to over-react regarding the "Warman" issue. Just because there is a post about a screen protector does not mean we're going to get into another 500 post long thread bashing Warman. There's no need to ask people to control themselves - it's over. So far, there are more "There's gonna be a flame war!" and "Please don't bring up Warman" type of posts than there have been anti-Warman posts. Let's just let it die.
(I'm getting down from my soapbox now...)

I use do-it-yourself vinyl.
Cuts the glare, and is very scratch resistant.
And you can't beat the price.
About $2 for a lifetime supply.

Vinyl
Vinyl.
It is very, very inexpensive. It lasts a long, long time. It is fairly easy to apply. And it really improves the Graffiti "feel" of the screen. A small reduction in glare.
Other types of screen protectors have too many negatives for me:
Writewrights (or any others with adhesive): Can't avoid getting air bubbles and dust bubbles and then can't squegee them out. Larger bubbles around trapped dust than vinyl. Very difficult to apply straight. They pull up on the touch screen when being removed, possibly damaging it over time. High cost. Non-clear ones blur the screen.
Window decals: Same problems as Writewright and they scratch so easily that they only last about a week. Also: very difficult and time consuming to clean off the coating they use so you can print on the material with an inkjet printer.
Viewfoil or other overhead projection type film: Scratches way too easily. Some are not very clear. Have to "tuck" them under the edges of the LCD screen. Can slide arround. Can be 'too smooth'.
Sheet protectors: Have to hold them in place by "tucking" them under the edgeds of the screen. Have to loosen the screws to do this, posibly wearing out the threads of the plasic over repeated protector replacements.
I use WriteRights for the Palm IIIc. I'm not having any problems with scratching because I ditched the stock stylus (one of the early ones) in favor if a 3com PalmPilot Professional stick. It works great and it was cheap.

I got WrightRights even before I got my visor, so I reckon I'll use them up. I'll probably switch to vinyl after they're gone, though.
