-- Prism: PDA Panache and Broken Stylus Sleeve? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10686)

Unhappy

I got my new prism... I love it. What more can I say. The only problems I've had have been a stuck red pixel and a small break in the stylus sleeve near the top. I use a PDA-Panache stylus. I've noticed that it fits more flush than it did in my deluxe, although I didn't detect any stress in the plastic when I inserted and removed it. Then, yesterday, the plastic piece broke off. I presume it must have been the stylus?

I have to send my Prism back for the stuck red pixel anyway, but I'd prefer not to have this problem again. Is anyone else having a similar problem (or otherwise good luck with PDA-Panache?). I love the stylus and don't want to go back to the standard stylus, but I guess I will if that is what it takes to keep from breaking the case.

Brian,

I had a similar problem with my PDA-Panache stylus on my Deluxe. The top of the stylus sleeve cracked. PDA-Panache got a little annoyed with me when I posted info on that subject last year

I have tried the PDA-Panache on my Prism but it is too loose and just falls out.

The PDA-Panache stylus gathers dust on my shelf -- along with the eyeModule, the Visor Clip and the compact flash adapter (that has bent pins)

Yes, the PDAPanache stylus tends to put stress on the silo if pressed in too far. Trick is to let it stick up at the mark towards the top of the stylus.

I had a Visor delux for a year w/ pda panache... worked great... now have prism, actually am on my second prism because the first one broke at the stylus silo.

I opened it up before sending it back and there is nothing to stop the pda panache from going in too far which I do believe causes to much stress on the silo.

I am currently using the factory stylus until I take time to open up the new prism and superglue a small piece of plastic or wood to stop the pda panache from going in too far.

This is not pda panache's fault its handsprings for changing the design of the silo allowing the stylus to go in farther. I am sure that a small piece of something glued at just the right place inside will correct the problem.

Awe... go on... don't be afraid to open'er up and see what makes'er tick.
