Locks on Address books
I'm trying to IR my address book to a Treo and I keep getting a messgae that says I can't IR locked data. How can I get around that?
Are you trying to beam the Address Book app or AddressDB.pdb? AddressDB.pdb is the database file, and it shouldn't be locked.

I'm already lost
Needless to say I'm a computer illiterate. What's the difference and how do I get to the appropriate DB.pda file? Thanks in advance for your help on this.
The Address Book app on the Visor is the program itself, which the Treo already has. The file "AddressDB.pdb" is the database file which contains all the names, addresses, and other contact information. If you want to beam all of your addresses and stuff to the Treo, you'll want to beam AddressDB.pdb, which shouldn't be "locked."
You can use a program like FileZ (which is freeware) to "browse" in your Visor to the file you want to beam, and you can beam from within FileZ too.
If you want to beam the entire address book database to the Treo, you'll either have to do it one address at a time (from within the Address Book program on your handheld) or by beaming the whole address database from your handheld to the Treo. If you do beam the whole database over, it will replace the Treo's addresses--the ones you beam won't be merged with existing addresses.
To beam the whole database over, the Treo will need FileZ installed too--to delete the file AddressDB.pdb from the Treo. (If you don't delete the existing database from the Treo, it won't accept the one you're trying to beam because the file "already exists.") Then, using FileZ on your handheld, scroll to AddressDB.pdb and select it (by tapping on the file name). Then tap Menu, then Beam. (Make sure Beam Receive is ON in the Treo.)
