Unhappy

My Visor deluxe is slow...very...slow. I've had it for almost a month. I've tried freeing up RAM--no noticeable improvement. I've had to do a hard reset (yes...I immediately went out and purchased the backup module!). The thing was still slow once there were some programs on it.

I have a bunch of stuff on it. I also have Quickbits running and have used Recycle (defrag). It's still slow. Mainly when going back to the main screen between applications. It's unbearably slow when trying to go to any of the menu items from the home screen (to beam, delete, etc.)

Any suggestions?

Question

Has your Visor always been this slow? If not, then I'd try the usual things (and, sorry if you've already been down this road) - like performing a soft-reset, disabling Hacks (or other system extensions), disabling keyboard drivers (especially the pokey Stowaway driver), disabling third-party shells (e.g. silverscreen), and uninstalling any apps that you installed just prior to the slowdown. Finally, and this is going to sound weird, but you might try disabling Quickbits.

BTW, don't try to do everything all at once. Make one change at a time, and see if there is any improvement before going on to the next thing (I tried to list things in the order that I would do them).

I would be interested in seeing how benchmark rates your system.
you can find it here:

if you still have problems after you did what Yucca said, I would call customer support so they can send you out someone else's broken visor.
