-- Seiko Smartpad (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=8934)
I just got word from Seiko Instruments that the Smartpad would be available for the visor in the first quarter of next year. I believe this could be a great tool for those of us that take tons of notes, and are always afraid of losing them.
SmartPad
I'll admit that I was getting to antsy waiting around for the Visor version. I just had to try it!
Last Monday I went ahead and purchased the currently marketed SmartPad for the Palm Pilot. The pad worked flawlessly with the hacks for rotating the screen and the graffitti areas.
Nonetheless.... I have come to realize that I don't need every toy available for a Visor or Palm.
* If I worked as a designer, the pad could be useful.
* Since I'm not a designer... the pad has no added value besides being an extremely cool sketch pad.
In meetings I'm more inclinded to use my Stowaway keyboard than the SmartPad.
Since the Visor cannot be alligned with the pad's IR port (without any aftermarket adjustments
) AND be attached to the Stowaway at the same time, I'm going to forgo the coolness factor of the SmartPad and return it.
Damn. I hate being practical.
