-- Can't beam apps to Palm Vx via IR! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=2435)

Anyone tried beaming apps to a Palm Vx? I can receive apps from a Palm Vx but can't seem to transfer apps the other way!

The IR transfer starts, but says beam is interrupted before the transfer is done. I can transfer from my VDx to my old Palm Pro with 2MB upgrade card and OS3.3 on it.

Anyone tried beaming apps to a Palm Vx?

Does one of you have beambox installed?

If so both of you will need it...

Also if you use programs that over/underclock your CPU it may affect beaming...

I have succesfully done it, so I know it is possible. I can't give any details about the setup of the Palm, because I don't own it. I suspect that there were no hacks installed, given the technical expertise of the Palm owner. I have no hacks on my Visor Deluxe.

Maybe is has to do with the color of your Visor. Mine is Ice. What color is yours?

I had the same problem (with same message) beaming to my husband's IIIx. We tried everything to no avail. I finally reluctantly called customer service. They were of no help until they gave up and said they would send a new one out. I received it yesterday and it works great. No more "Beamus Interuptis".

Thanks to all for your help.

I got a new Handspring replacement today and it works! But only if the units are more than a few inches away (say 5 inches?). Otherwise, beam interrupted. Doh!

So the solution is

1) spread the units apart and then beam
and if that doesn't work,
2) get a new unit! =)

nite!
