Memplug CF, PiVFS and TomeRaider....

OK -- here's my question...

I just took the time to download Webster's Encyclopedia (11Mb) from memoware.com for TomeRaider and would like to use my Memplug CF adapter to access this huge file. How do I do that, given that I own a PiDirect, PiVFS (beta), and a 48Mb Compact Flash card? Can I do that?

I think the trick for you is to get the 11mb file onto the CF card.

Do you have a CF reader of some sort?

If you do, you will have to place the file onto the CF using that, since you only have at most 8mb of RAM on your Visor.

I am just getting into CF (got my Matchbook Drive today ) and to not use the Memplug.

Thanks for the comment, flips13. I guess I should have mentioned that I use a laptop and have a PCMCIA adapter for compact flash cards, so getting the file onto the CF wasn't a problem. I figured how to get Tome Raider to read the file, though. All I had to do was create a folder for the encyclopedia and then direct PiDirect to the folder. In the end, what I thought would be a problem turned out not to be a problem. I guess that's what you get sometimes for asking advise before you exhaust your known options.

can you access that encyclopedia from the memplug if you only have a VDX? That amount of storage is tempting, but if I have to upgrade then i'll just forgo the option!
