Question VPL + IIIc + 1 PC

So I've got a VPL and now my dad has got a IIIc. We only have 1 PC. Handspring have a special version of palm desktop 3.1 which I call 'handspring desktop'. The palm will use 'palm desktop 4'. I know that the VPL won't work with palm desktop so the IIIc probably won't work with 'handspring desktop'. So the multiple users thing won't work. So what do I do? Can I have 2 different palm desktops on one computer or will this mess things up? I'm sure someone here has a hanspring and a palm/ sony/ whatever, how do you guys work it?
Thanks

The Palm IIIc will sync perfectly fine with Handsprings desktop v3.1. If you sync your VPL with a serial cradle, then your VPL will sync perfectly fine with Palm's desktop v4.0. However this will involve cable swapping, a switch box, or switching which serial port the desktop syncs against. If you sync your VPL with a USB cradle, then some people have had limited success with Palm's desktop v4.0.1. Specifically people have reported problem syncing with v4.0.1, USB, when using Avantgo. If you do not use Avantgo, then you might have no problems.

Currently I sync my Prism on two different computers. Both with Avantgo installed.

Smile Thanks, I'll give it a go!

Sorry, I probably should have gone into more detail!
VPL with USB and avantgo
Palm IIIc with serial and no avantgo (yet) - we only got it today and I don't know if my dad wants it.
So I'll try the setup you have suggested, my VPL and simply add the IIIc on - just as simple as it should be, I just had concerns that if hs wasn't compatible with palm desktop, then IIIc wouldn't be compatible with Handsrping desktop.
Thanks for your help!
