Can't Sync - How Can I Tell If Cradle Is The Culprit???
I haven't been able to sync for a while, and I'm in mortal fear of my VDx crashing, as I've added quite a bit of stuff to it since my last sync. It's most likely a problem with the cradle, I guess, though I've no idea why it would suddenly conk out. Before I spend the money on a new one only to find I still can't sync, can anyone recommend any way to test that the cradle is, in fact, the problem. And yes, I've tried cleaning the VDx and cradle contacts, and still no luck... Thanks much.
If it's a USB cradle, try unplugging it, then reboot the PC. After the PC restarts, reconnect the cradle and give it a try.

Reboot
I'm away this weekend, but will give it a try when I get back. Thanks...
Notsync
Crud. Reboot and re-plug idn't work. Thanks anyway.
This is the second cradle that's conked out -- first the serial, now the USB. These cradles certainly do NOT rock! Fortunately, found a used one on the cheap from Amazon. If I can just avoid a crash until it arrives...
If it's been a while since you sync'd, you can try a SOFT reset on the Visor, and then try syncing. That's worked for me several times in the past... it's the same as rebooting your PC; usually fixes a multitude of problems!

Gotsync?
Hmmm.... I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
Tried-everything-but-the-kitchen sync!
Hot Dang! The soft reset worked! And I was blaming the poor cable all along... You da man!
Too bad I already ordered a replacement cradle from Amazon... but, heck it was pretty cheap -- and it's not a bad idea to have a backup anyway, so better to get it now while VDx-compatible accessories are still available, right? Muchas gracias, dude!
