PiDirect and SplashMoney Conduit Not Working
SplashMoney is a finance app that will synchronize with Quicken. It
uses a Hotsync Conduit to transfer .QIF files to the PDA and create
the corresponding accounts. With SplashMoney on the Module and
PiDirect active during Hotsync, the Conduit doesn't work. It only
works with the SplashMoney app in RAM and PiDirect inactive during
Hotsync. Is this something PiDirect can correct or do I have to go to
the SplashMoney author to make changes?
I've been having simliar experience with Acrobat Reader. The conduit syncs happily when the prc is in the RAM, but not when it sits on the SM Card in the MemPlug.
No solutions save a long winded manual workaround
I think the conduit needs to talk to the app on the pda.
Therefore if you have pidirect "disabled during hotsync"
the app wont be there doing hotsync. I have the same problem
with wordsmith. I have not tried enabling "during hotsync" because
I am afraid of what may happen if the app needs to write to
the pdb of the SMC.
PiDirect enabled at Hotsync
I had PiDirect enabled during Hotsync and it didn't help - Conduit does need to talk to app but doesn't see it.
BugMe! Messanger has the same problem
BugMe! Messanger does not sync to the network or sync files if the Application is not in RAM. However, when I used to have a Flash Memory Springboard everything was fine. Also, I wrote a few times to Pit reporting a bug that shows up while having BugMe! Messenger in the MemPlug, a BugMe messenger alarm pops up, when PiMover is in use. This bug gives you a FatalException and the reset prompt doesn't work. A soft reset gets rid of this error.
I hope PIT solves most of these bugs in the near future. Also, I've noticed that the when you have many programs loaded in the MemPlug using PiDirect, my PDA gets slower. The refresh time is slower than usual even though I'm overclocking my Prism.
