Has anyone here found a way to connect their Visor to a router? I've tried my serial cable with one piece of equipment in our lab (a Contivity extranet switch) but no go. I'm guessing the thing needs full RS-232, like the MarkSpace DataCord promises:

There's also the news item from today which shows a similar cord from ATL:
http://www.atlconnect.com/thirdpart.../connectors.htm

I emailed them and asked them if this is full RS-232.

I preordered a DataCord but the release date seemes to keep getting pushed back, so I'm wondering if there are other options, which do not involve soldering in your Visor. Was anyone successful in using Online on a Visor and connecting to routers? If so, what kind of equipment did you have success with, and which ones didn't work?

I'm guessing that you can't dial-in and use a modem? If serial is your only option, you might want to get the EFIG springboard. It's full serial (albeit expensive - $149). Since it uses the springboard, you could even still use a Stowaway keyboard.

Thanks. Yes, I can't really dial-in since it would be for use in a lab. This springboard seems nice but it's pretty bulky and really expensive compared to what the DataCord will cost... I suppose if I were REALLY desparate I would go for it

Unhappy

I think that MarkSpace's datacord is still the way to go. I too am getting tired of waiting . . .
