-- Email: Send only (Netscape) (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=2710)
I'd like to be able to write email on my Visor, and send it via Netscape. However, I don't want to have email from my PC get synced to my Visor (too darned much of it!), and I don't want my Netacape address book syncing with my Visor address book.
I know, I'm being picky. Can I do this - just send email from my Visor, nothing else?
TIA.
Rich
Hmm. OK, since I did not get any response from that, let me rephrase. What I need to be able to do is write email on my Visor, and send it. What client I use to do the sending is, after more thought, utterly irrelevant. I use Netscape to fetch and read mail, but if using the Visor requires that I use Eudora, Outlook, or Pine to send mail, I don't really care. Any tips here would be much appreciated. Being able to write email on the Visor would allow me to capture thoughts when they happen, rather than having to try to remember them hours later.
TIA
Rich
there is an icon in your DESKTOP visor group called "mail setup." Set this up to the mail utility of whatever computer you are using and choose the mail profile that is correct.
On my computer we have groupwise, but the "microsoft outlook" setting works, my profile is 'corel default."
after you do this, you can go into the mail utility on your PALMTOP and in the menu choose "hotsync options."
In this option, you can choose WHAT syncs i.e. i have it only syncing outgoing mail that i have written on the palm top. you can also set it to load new mail, all mail or none.
hope this helps.
If I understand correctly, you want to be able to upload mail from your Visor Mail box to your desktop without syncing the Inbox.
I had this same problem and as a result have changed the mail conduit default (in HotSync Manager) to "Do Nothing". Then when I want to down or upload, I set the mail conduit to sync. It also helps if you keep a clean Inbox in your desktop application -- I'm kind of a filing maniac, so this is no real problem.
I wish there was a better solution. Perhaps one of the third party mail apps enable this.
But for my present needs, it works.

for some reason my post is apparently unclear:
guys, you dont have to "keep a clean inbox" or "only turn it on to send"
use the following:
Mail Ap -- menu -- options -- "hotsync options" -- "send only"
under this setting your palm will sync without syncing your PC inbox.
rather it will only sync and send your outgoing palm mail.
