Blackened Buttons
Barely a few days after i got my edge (back in march or april) i noticed that the scroll buttons (or is it just a button...one piece) turned a blackish colour from what i'm guessing was the sweat on my fingers!
it looks alot like tarnished silver which is odd considering that they probably use some stainless steel alloy. None of the 4 app buttons have done this, just the 'up/down' button(s).
anybody else? anybody know of a way to remove this tarnish without having to rinse my edge afterwards?

Don't know
Strange, how stainless steel would do that, have you got it wet or somthing?

Tarnish removal
"Silvo" Silver Polish wadding - it removes the tarnish.
Re: Blackened Buttons
quote:After not having this problem for quite a while, I noticed yesterday morning that I was starting to see a little bit of blackness on the up/down button. I took some silver polish/tarnish remover to it, and it came off. It says to 'rinse' on the container, but I just used the included sponge wringing it as dry as possible before use. Also, I doubt that it's stainless steel. Nickel plating would be believable.

thanks for the suggestions.
i'll give the polish a try (if my polish was made in Poland, would it be Polish polish?
)

Wear off completely too???
I thoought I read a post on the finish actually coming off-- leaving black buttons -- Anyone else hear of this??? Or experience it??

And/or finish coming off--
I found the post -- it's on the Palm Info Center site--
Maybe the finish can wear all the way off-- Doesn't look like anybody is real sure here though---

Well.. after reading this thread, decided to clean my buttons. Simply used brass polish (for belt buckles, etc.) and kleenex. Worked like a charm... all you need is a very small amount on each button and buff to a bright polish. I was surprised at how much film and oil were actually there. The kleenex clearly turns black from all the dirty layers. Now i can literally see very detailed reflections!
