the news item concerning the HandyGPS module has disappeared from visorcentral. what is going on? did the situation change or is visorcentral trying to keep mum on the release so they may horde all of them?

If you go to the Macrosoft website, it says that the GPS will be shipping in April. Didn't they say it would ship in March??

I hope they don't pull the same stunt that Handspring did when the Visor was first shipped. Has anyone heard anything???

Thumbs down

Greeeeaaaat...I figured this would happen. The Marcosoft page did say March yesterday and now says April.

The information is no longer correct as there are several things that Marcosoft and Navicom are still working on in the HandyGPS.

Believe me, I can't wait to get my hands on it either.

Angry

I called the number on Marcosoft's web site today. The guy I talked to said the February 25 date didn't come from them, but from the manufacturer. He also said they heard from the manufacturer that due to a change they had to make in the casing, there was no way it would ship before mid-April. *sigh*

This is the reason I decided to go with the Garmin III+ GPS. It has a built in screen and can (eventually) be connected to a Visor with a serial cable (if handspring ever makes one).

This, and with GPSs, it is nice to have the antenna in an area to receive satellite signals while still being able to view the visor's screen easily.

Now, if I could just get a **** serial cable..

Best of luck, all. I had actually wanted the HandyGPS, but I didn't want to wait that long...
