my little webby
I still love my Visor Prism
If you click on the button on the Intel page to "compare prices online" it will show you a list of merchants that show it for about $85!!!
Amazon and Palmgear still show it for $299. The review on Amazon warns about some caveats.
I wonder if it will work with my Dlink Access point?
mbordel,
Which D-Link WAP do you have? I have a DWL-900AP connected to my broadband router, and it works just fine with my Springport. The only caveat is that for some reason I have to manually enter the IP's for my primary and secondary DNS servers into preferences. But since the IP's never change, it's no biggie.
Going, Going, ...
The only good things that come to those who wait, are what's left behind by those with initiative.
The cheap prices are all sold out!
Huh?
Intel are selling it? Marcus should be beaten for that one.

Got one
Ordered from intel, it took a month to get off the backorder, but it finally came today... now if I can get it to work
I called Intel last week. They said they had just received a shipment but it all went to backorders. I figured I would just be patient and order from them.
What's not working? I have not tried wireless yet. I rented an ActionTec DSL/Router that can take a wireless PCMCIA card (wireless ready) from Qwest. I set up the router last weekend and expect the WiFi cards to arrive in a few days. I figure I have to set a static IP (as opposed to a DHCP dynamic IP) address in my PC's NIC in order to do a network hotsync. Is that true? Is that the problem, or are there other hurdles that must be overcome?
found 'em
These folks tell me they have 20 or so in stock for $88 plus shipping ...

It Shipped!
I ordered mine from Intel on 9/23/02 and got an email that it shipped on 10/04/02. That's not too bad. In the meantime, I got my wireless network at home working uing Linksys WiFi cards in the PC's and the ActionTec DLS/Router/WAP unit that I rented from Qwest. I figured all of this will be outdated some day so why pay $250+ when I can rent for $5/month.
