I decided to order from Amazon because of the $50 discount they're offering. According to their web site yesterday, the Omnisky modem was "on order" but "ships within 24 hours." I asked them what this meant, but haven't gotten any response.

I'm probably being overly impatient, but has anyone ordered this from them recently, and how was their turnaround time?

I may be the last person in the universe who has never ordered from Amazon , so how reliably are they about getting things out on time, and replying to quiries?
