-- Fatal Exception - How to delete apps (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=15846)
I just got the Visor (regular 2MB) and installed several apps. Now I get Fatal Exceptions while trying to delete apps, while trying to view App, Info.., while doing just about any system function.
Address book, callendar, etc work fine and still contain all data.
One program I "installed" with the latest version released from Handspring, isn't listed at all. I wonder if it is corrupted and I would like to somehow remove it.
How can I do this without doing the "hard reset". I installed something called Filez, that says it sees the files, but it crashes the OS too.
Any ideas?
TIA
Sounds like you have a corrupt application, file and/or memory manager. The only solution I know that will work is the hard reset. The only other thing I would try would be a firm reset (press the reset button while holding the up-arrow key). This is just like a soft reset (just pressing the reset button) but without initializing any OS patches or informing the loaded programs of the reset. You then might be able to use the delete to remove any corrupt application or file. Figuring out which file this would be can be a lot of trial and error. (Firm-reset, delete a suspected file, soft-reset, try to delete another other, if fail try again.)
