I have a concern. I ordered an Ice Visor on November 9th. I have read some posts that the ICE color may have some problems with the case (Cover plastic is brittle, the unit is not put together correctly etc.) Do you think I should change the color? If yes I would change it to the black color. It the black a translucent black?

These units are a lot of $$ I certainly don't want it to fall apart three weeks after I get it.

I've got a ICE Visor and I have found nothing wrong with it. It seems solid and the case doesn't seem brittle at all. The screen is properly mounted (unlike another post were the screen was tilted slightly).

I like the color and I can only surmise that the posts you speak of were some bad batches in assembly or manufacturing. Personally, I was a little concerned with the color before I received mine, but I am very happy with it. In fact if I were to order one all over again I would order another ICE.

In response to your questio about the black (graphite) case. No, it is not translucent black, but rather a solid color. I have a Visor Deluxe with the graphite case and i love it. Not sure about the ICE case, but I know the graphite one is good.

I have an Ice VD. Love the Visor, not too happy with the "Ice", I think it looks like cheap plastic. I especially don't like the hard cover that goes over the screen, this really looks cheap. Maybe I would like it more if it wasn't so translucent.

One word of caution: changing your order may be extremely difficult. Four e-mails and three phone calls later (over a 3-week period), I still can't confirm whether or not my order has actually been changed from Ice to Graphite. I finally e-mailed a senior official yesterday who promptly responded and indicated that the easiest way to change your order is to cancel it and place a new one, since their computer systems are still awaiting an upgrade to allow them to make changes more efficiently. Unfortunately, this places you at the bottom of the list again.

She is checking to see if they can make the change for me. I'll let you know if I succeed. I suspect an Ice VDx will show up on my doorstep, though...

I've posted in the past to complain about my Ice Visor feeling a little 'creaky,' but it seems that not all Ice owners notice this as much. Probably it's more a matter of individual variability in manufacturing than the fault of the color. I do get the feeling that, overall, the Graphite Visors are more solid-feeling than the colored, but it's not that dramatic a difference.

I do like the color, from an aesthetic point of view, just fine. I don't think it looks 'cheap' at all.
