Help with Thinmodem Plus error message

I have a ThinModem Plus handspring module and I keep getting the following error
message when I plug it into my Handspring Visor Deluxe:

DataMgr.c, Line:1880 Null dbID passed

RESET OPTION

I have tried the following with no success:
- Soft Reset my Visor with the modem plugged in, once the Visor starts up, the modem
'beeps' and then the above error appears
- Soft Reset my Visor without the modem plugged in, once the Visor starts up, I
plug in the modem, the modem 'beeps' and then the above error appears
- Hard Reset my Visor with the modem plugged in, once the Visor starts up, the modem
'beeps' and then the above error appears
- Hard Reset my Visor without the modem plugged in, once the Visor starts up, I
plug in the modem, the modem 'beeps' and then the above error appears
