Thumbs up Great Price

I just bought my first PDA, a blue Neo at Target for only $99. I think that is a pretty good deal.

I figure even if HS goes out of business -- I have a great PDA at a great price that I can get tons of great software for a long time.

And hey, we might be able to get some real cheap SpringBoard modules soon!

It 's all good.

Scott

Happy Treo 600 user, so far. Thanx Cingular for having an unlocked phone.

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.

$69.90 or less!!!

Just saw that Targets in Indy lowered the remaning Neos to $69.90. Actually, I called all around and couldn't find any... except for a nice display model I just purchased for an additional 30% off. No cradle (which I don't need) or software (which is of course downloadable) but at less than $50, how can you go wrong.

Get to Target!! The remaining accessories are also at deep discounts.

I actually ran out to my local target, and they had NOTHING interesting except the Neo at $85. No bargain bin or anything.

Further validation of Target Prices

Ernieba1 - pay attention!

The Target in Montgomeryville, PA (near Philly) is selling Neos for 85 dollars. I picked up a Serial cradle for 7 bucks. They're also selling 3 replacement stylii for 9 dollars.

Get 'em while they last.

Target discontinuing Handspring products does not necessarily mean 'bye bye Neo'. Every store has to decide what to give shelf space to and what to drop. HS apparently just does not sell well at Target- although based on our local stores, it is easy to see why.

Our local Target carries these in a locked display back in a corner behind the cameras counter. The display is a non-functional dummy unit and 'point of sale' advertising/info is pretty minimal.

On an endcap, they carry lots of Palm M-100's and other low-end Palms in clamshell packaging for about $70 regular price (when the Neo was on sale at $99). Because of the way things were set up, it was difficult to compare the two things feature for feature so I bet most people never knew that the Neo has 4 times the memory of the M-100.

You need a clerk to open the case and get you a Neo, but anyone can grab the Palm.

In a stunning display of odd merchandising, Target also carries a couple Palms in the stationary dept, which is where most of the cases are. There are also cases in luggage and camping, some accessories in autotive/cell phones, and in the cameras area.

Personally, I think whoever is in charge of Target's computer and related electronics division should be fired- they do a pretty mediocre job in that deptartment in most of the stores I have been in.

On the other hand- you gotta love those clearance prices!

palm m100

The cons of a palm m100 is the cheap plastic screen

You bought a display model? At my local target, the display models are non-functioning shells. I wouldn't pay $5 for them! Unless of course it was a Visor Prism model. Then I'd buy it so that I could replace my faceplate that is broken.

That's a really good deal!! Though I hope you'll have more luck finding cheap Springboards than I do.
