GPS and trip planner

I have a GPS Companion and I travel lots with my job. I was wondering if there was a way to get some program that will tell me how far to go until my next turn. I was thinking along the lines of Mapsco enabled GPS maps so I dont have to print out all the directions all the time. Any Ideas?
