-- Screen hum? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1898)
Can you hear a high-pitched hum when you bring your turned-on Visor to your ear?
I've been using mine for about 2 weeks and I can't figure out if it's been there all along and I just didn't notice it, or if just appeared today. My batteries are at 28%, so maybe that has something to do with it.
If your backlight is on, that's it. The backlight on these units is high-voltage (low-current) and emits a hum.
Hmm.. it changes pitch a little bit when I turn the backlight on, but I can definitely hear a hum even without the backlight. Maybe it's just my superior hearing
I wonder if replacing the batteries will do anything..
This hum exists on all PalmOS devices I have ever seen. It does get louder when the backlight is on. I beleive it is normal behavior and is not related to the batteries or their voltage level. I wonder if it is a tiny fan or something. Anyone out there ever looked inside?

Just checked mine out and now I have a big ol' ear print on my screen! Thanks a lot...
Anyway, "YES", mine also has a high pitch hum. Kinda cool to know it's ALIVE! =)

Whew
good to hear there's nothing wrong with mine. I've also noticed that the hum changes depending on what's being displayed on the screen. It's slightly louder when it's showing an image or a page full of text and quiter with just a few icons showing.
